No. Active 10s: 2-3
Ashford has a bustling town centre with pedestrianised lanes and a wealth of shops and leisure facilities. However, you don’t have to go far to enjoy some green space, with Victoria Park just a short distance from the town centre and the Great Stour river weaving its way through the town.
This Active 10 walking route is 1.4 miles long in its entirety, consisting of between two and three complete Active 10s if you walk the whole route. However, feel free to walk as little or as much of the route as you feel able to.
From the High Street, head to Wellesley Road and cross over to head down East Hill. Continue along East Hill and then turn right onto Mace Lane, crossing over at the pedestrian crossing and joining the footpath alongside the Great Stour, following the blue pedestrian sign for Kennington. Follow the path up to the footbridge on your left-hand side, at which point double-back, or turn left to loop around and re-join the path further down, to head back to your starting point.
Why not give this Active 10 walking route a try next time you’re in Ashford town centre? Whether it’s during your lunchbreak from work, or taking a break from a shopping trip, this Active 10 walking route is sure to help you move towards a healthier lifestyle.
