Save this itemThe Cranbrook Pickleball Club is a welcoming group of enthusiasts for this up-and-coming sport. Although some of its members have recently enjoyed success at high level competitions, they remain open to beginners joining the sessions and wanting to learn a new sport.
What is PickleBall?
Pickleball is one of the world’s fastest growing sports. It combines elements of badminton, table tennis and tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, over a net. The sport shares features of other racket sports: the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, and a net and rules somewhat similar to tennis, with several modifications.
What equipment is needed?
To try the sport out, all you need to do is wear comfortable clothing and a pair of trainers. The Pickleball club can lend you a paddle and ball. Eventually you might like to buy your own paddle, but the club members can advise you what to choose.
